“Pushing the boundaries of the modern scene, with a view to empower rather than release the all too familiar stereotypical track, Dying Oath hit the airwaves and our screens with a fast paced, active and energetic demeanour, driven by a powerful sound and will to succeed.” - Stargazer Music Magazine

Concert Review: Infected Rain (Hangar 1819)

May 17, 2026

"Then Dying Oath came out and pushed the night a little heavier. Their set had that mix of aggression and emotion that I always appreciate in heavy music. The breakdowns hit, the vocals carried weight, and the energy on stage felt real. From behind the camera, this was one of those sets where you could tell the band was locked in. You’re not just trying to catch cool shots you’re trying to catch the feeling of the performance. And they definitely gave me moments to work with."

Metal Junkbox Review: Burn by Dying Oath

May 20, 2025

"The North American band Dying Oath has just released their latest single called "Burn" on May 16th.

Here we have a type of band that pleases many audiences. If you are a fan of a good Metalcore band, with that touch of Death Metal, combined with weight, speed and a lot of attitude, I have to say, listen to Dying Oath! The band's ability to perform is incredible, with a very interesting proposal, the band manages to deliver a very modern, heavy, fast and very well produced sound!

The single is now available on the main digital platforms."

Indie Rage Radio Review: Burn by Dying Oath

May 20, 2025

"Southwest Virginia metal band Dying Oath has unleashed a fiery new single titled "Burn", and it's everything fans could hope for-and more. This track dives deep into the emotional chaos of losing someone or something that mattered most. It's not just a song-it's a full-on emotional release set to a crushing metal soundtrack.

From the first note, "Burn" kicks down the door with a blistering tempo that'll have metalheads throwing horns in the air and headbanging without a second thought. The energy never lets up, making it a perfect mosh pit anthem from start to finish.

Frontwoman, Mindy Jackson, proves once again why she's one of the most powerful female vocalists in the metal world. Her growls are raw and intense, but it's the contrast with her clean vocals that truly stands out. There's a vulnerability in the background harmonies that adds depth to the fury-a perfect blend of rage and sorrow.

The guitars blaze with energy, delivering soaring solos that demand attention (and maybe a little air guitar action too). Every riff and beat hits with purpose, amplifying the song's emotional weight while keeping your adrenaline pumping.

"Burn" is built for the stage. It screams festival favorite and is bound to become a staple in Dying Oath's live set. Whether you're grieving, raging, or just ready to let loose, this track gives you the outlet you need

Now streaming everywhere you listen to music, "Burn" is a must-hear for metal fans craving both intensity and emotion. Don't miss it-this one's going to leave a mark."

Rogues Gallery Reviews: Burn by Dying Oath

May 18, 2025

"Virginia's Dying Oath didn't just drop a song —they napalmed the entire 2000s metalcore nostalgia factory with "Burn," and honey, we're here for the arson. Clocking in at a glorious 5:58, this track is a riff-stuffed, bass-thumping, scream-soaked manifesto that's equal parts Trivium grit and In Flames melody. Consider this your eviction notice from chillville-Mindy Jackson's vocals just moved in, and they're here to collect emotional rent.

Let's start with the riffage. Josh Hagee and Ryan Endicott? These dudes are out here channeling Björn and Jesper like they've got a direct line to the melodeath gods. The intro? A tectonic plate-shifting riff that morphs into a bouncy groove so catchy, you'll forget it's legal. Then—plot twist— they hit pause at the 1:00 mark just to whisper-scream, "Psst... Mindy's about to END YOU." And oh, she does. Her growls? Think a chainsaw revving in a cathedral. Her cleans? A haunting echo of every heartbreak you've ever air-guitared through.

But let's talk about Joey McDaniel's bass. FINALLY, a band that doesn't treat bassists like background decor a la Newsted Justice. Joey's lines thump like a panic attack in a subwoofer, while Hogan Gammons' drums? Pure artillery fire. This rhythm section doesn't just keep time-they now possess the Time Stone and they've fashioned instruments from it!

Then comes the chorus—a gut-punch of loss and longing so raw, you'll want to scream-sing it into a hairbrush. But hold onto your battle vests: the 3:00 mark drops a breakdown that's half cult ritual, half mosh pit riot. Halftime chugs? Check. Demonic roars? Double-check. And those solo trades at the end? They deserve a wind machine, a mountain peak, and a slow-mo fan cam.

Verdict? 4/5 l —Dying Oath isn't just reviving 2000s metalcore; they're giving it nitro boosters. Stream "Burn" NOW, follow Dying Oath, and prep your neck brace. Your soul's about to get a workout."

Roadie Metal Review: Burn by Dying Oath

May 19, 2026

"Dying Oath formed in 2018, but began releasing singles continuously in 2020. The band has six members and comes from Wytheville, Virginia, in the United States. Despite their current proposal, they have a great difference within their sound.

Their latest single, "Burn" proves it. The band has a metalcore theme, but it doesn't stop there and ends up delivering a versatile sound, with different melodies and light influences from traditional metal, which also places it within the melodic death metal category. The female guttural vocals are the icing on the cake and this is one of the sextet's best songs."

American Mosh Pits Review: Burn by Dying Oath

May 20, 2025

"Dying Oath, an American Mosh Pits Sponsored Band out of Virginia just dropped a new track "Burn" with a music video. The song adds to the Dying Oath library of hard hitting heavy metal tunes. Solid musical melodies and breakdowns accompany Mindy's aggressive tone and give fans another head banging hit. The simplicity of the video let's you bring the song to life in your head as it plays. "Burn" showcases the musical talent of the band and gives fans something to look forward to with the upcoming EP releasing later this year.

The hard hitting edgy sound of Dying Oath is not only heard but felt and seen when you sit and enjoy the 5 minute 58 second video. With an intro timing at 1 minute and 15 seconds you really get the art of image and color to give you the feel of the song. The graveyard backdrop gives you plenty to think about as Mindy starts delivering the lyrics line after line:

When the breakdown hits at 2 minutes and 53 seconds you are reminded how musically talented Dying Oath is. It is hard and heavy and stands out in a music genre full of breakdowns.

Overall "Burn" comes in hot and leaves me ready for the EP. Dying Oath has a calendar full of shows from now until the end of August and a new track was exactly what the stage show needed for the summer run. I personally will be covering their sets at Armageddon Festival in June in Atlantic City NJ, Metal Mayhem in August in Danville VA and Michigan Metal Fest in August in Battle Creek Michigan and I am looking forward to Mindy and the gang showing me that "it's time to waich the world burn" Dying Oath Style.

Ghost Cult Magazine Review: New EP "Hiraeth" by Dying Oath

July 4, 2025

"Metalcore heavyweights, Dying Oath, have just dropped their new EP, Hiraeth, across all major streaming platforms. They recently shared the single, "Burn," from the record, along with a lyric video. Check it out below and read more from the band.

Titled after a Welsh term that conveys a deep yearning for something lost or unreachable, Hiraeth is more than just a release— it's a visceral soundtrack of grief, redemption, and unwavering defiance. Through thunderous riffs, cathartic screams, and haunting melodic layers, Dying Oath delivers their most emotionally charged and sonically diverse material to date. Produced by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist), the 13-minute EP showcases standout tracks like "Burn," which brings gut-punching intensity and a powerful message of survival to listeners battling their own demons.

Rooted in the traditions of early 2000s metalcore and shaped by modern metal influences, Dying Oath has forged a sound reminiscent of In Flames, Kittie, and Bullet for My Valentine —a sound that has earned them festival slots at Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock Festival, and the Gathering of the Juggalos. Their live performances are renowned for their raw energy, fierce musicianship, and deeply personal connection with fans.

Hailing from Southwest Virginia, Dying Oath is a five-piece metalcore outfit delivering blistering riffs, thunderous breakdowns, and a fearless blend of guttural aggression and soaring melodies. Fronted by the commanding presence of Mindy Jackson, the band channels themes of empowerment, pain, and perseverance into every performance. With a loyal and ever-growing fanbase, Hiraeth marks a new chapter in the band's journey— a powerful testament to their resilience and artistic evolution."
